BARRY UNVERSITY STUDENT WINS YOUNG DIRECT MARKETERS SCHOLARSHIP

TAMARAC, FL – (October 9, 2009) – The Florida Direct Marketing Association is pleased to award it's annual Young Direct Marketers Scholarship to Tatiana Johnson, a Barry University junior who is majoring in Marketing and Graphic Design. She will receive her $2,000 award at the FDMA's monthly luncheon on October 22nd, which features the compelling presentation entitled, The Video Edge: How Cost Effective Online Video Can Increase Your Sales and ROI.
With the theme, “Experiment with DM,” this competition offered marketing students at Florida colleges and universities the opportunity to develop a complete marketing plan based on the Creative Brief for a new concept in virtual amusement called SURREALAND. It was developed by FDMA Scholarship Chairperson, Paul Masaracchio. The competition is a cooperative effort between the FDMA and marketing professors who have a great opportunity to promote their students, schools and departments.
Ms. Johnson's entry was both comprehensive and creative. As Mr. Masaracchio noted in Tatiana's award letter, “Your plan stands out for its breadth of insight into the marketing challenge and excellent development and matching of strategies and tactics to the stated objectives. Ms. Johnson's professor, Dr. Ye Sheng, who will accompany her prize student to the October 22nd presentation, calls her “a very talented and hardworking student who ranks among the best students I have taught at Barry University.“ Ms. Johnson, a student leader who sees “marketing as my life,” describes the FDMA experience as “invaluable to her education and her future.” She plans to pursue an MBA in Marketing.
