April  22, 2010 - 10 Ways to Bring in New Business
. . . and cheer yourself up.

Lois Geller, South Florida's Queen of New Business (our term, not hers), has been thinking about the state of the economy and she's come to a simple conclusion: Give up or Get Going. She prefers the Get Going part, as in “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” Her credo is: There's new business out there and somebody's going to get it. Why not you?

The trick is to go after new business in all the right ways. Lois Geller has been doing that all over the world in good times and bad and she kept track of what works well and what's a total waste of time. Now she thinks it's time to share.

She'll talk about the ins and outs of getting new business at the FDMA get-together on Thursday, April 22nd. You won't want to miss it.

Handing out business cards a good idea? Not according to Lois. You might as well just say to your prospect “Here, do me a favor, chuck this, would you?” Instead, she talks about how to get prospects to ask for your business card and why you should write a quick note on it with, say, your personal cell phone number.

Act like you're on the top of the world … because you are, at least compared to the rest of the world. Bring a pen and paper and be ready to ask questions as Lois explains the sometimes counterintuitive approaches to coaxing new business out of a tough marketplace. You'll want to pay careful attention because this is a fast moving interactive session with a lot of good ideas …and LOL humor.

Lois K. Geller is President of the Lois Geller Marketing Group in Hollywood, Florida. She moved her agency from New York 5 years ago and she's delighted she did. Over the years, Lois's clients have included a lot of the big ones like Chase, Ford, 3M, American Express, IBM and dozens of little and medium ones from a South Carolina pecan farmer to a dry cleaners association. She's a frequent and popular speaker at seminars and DM conventions all over the world. She has also written 5 books on direct marketing, including the bestseller “Response”.
